Product

Does FillMyClass provide the substitutes?
No, and that’s the point. FillMyClass is built so you get to use your own trusted subs: the retired teachers, parents, former staff, and regulars your team already knows. We don’t send in strangers from a staffing pool. You keep the relationships and the culture fit; we give you the tools to reach your people fast.
How does “preferred subs” work?
When a teacher creates a request, they can list preferred substitutes. Those subs are notified first and get a head start to claim the job. If no preferred sub accepts within the window you set, the request opens to the full qualified pool automatically.
What devices does FillMyClass support?
FillMyClass is mobile-first with native apps on iOS and Android. Admins also get a full web dashboard for managing schools, rosters, and coverage at scale.
Can we run multiple schools in one account?
Yes. FillMyClass supports multi-school organizations — from independent schools with separate elementary, middle, and high divisions to networks and districts. Role-based access keeps every user — admins, teachers, subs — seeing only what they should.
Can teachers share sub plans through FillMyClass?
Yes. Teachers can attach sub plans and notes to a coverage request, so the substitute who accepts walks in knowing exactly what the day looks like.
What makes FillMyClass different from other solutions?
FillMyClass helps you quickly reach your own trusted substitute network — not a third-party pool. It’s designed to be extremely simple for teachers and substitutes to use, while giving administrators powerful tools to manage coverage, notifications, and staffing at scale.

Pricing & billing

How does pricing work?
Pricing is a simple annual plan based on the number of teacher/admin users.
Do substitutes count toward our price?
No. Substitute accounts are free. Your price is based on teacher/admin users only.
How does billing work?
We bill annually through Stripe.
Do you offer a free trial?
No, but every school gets a 90-day fit guarantee. If your school starts using FillMyClass and decides within the first 90 days that it isn’t the right fit, we’ll refund your subscription.

Getting started

What does onboarding look like?
We’ll get your school or organization set up in FillMyClass. After that, you can immediately start adding users and requesting subs. You can be up and running the very same day.
How do we invite our teachers and substitutes?
You can invite people individually via email or share a school join code. Everyone signs in with Google, Apple, or email.
Do we need IT support to roll this out?
No. FillMyClass is simple enough for everyone to use. We're here to help you along the way.

For substitutes

How do subs receive notifications?
Subs choose their channels: push notifications, email, SMS (text message), or any combination. They control their own preferences.
Does it cost substitutes anything?
No. Substitute accounts are completely free, and the iOS and Android apps are free to download.
Can our retired teachers and parent volunteers be subs?
Yes — that’s exactly who FillMyClass is built around. Your school decides who joins its sub pool; anyone you approve can receive and accept jobs.

Data & security

Who can see our school’s information?
Access is role-based. Admins, teachers, and substitutes each see only what they need — subs see open jobs and their own schedule, not your whole roster.
How is our data handled?
FillMyClass collects only what’s needed to coordinate coverage, and we never sell your data. See our privacy policy and terms of service for the details.
